Crystals To Start Off With
I commonly am asked by new practitioners which crystals I recommend having in their collection. Below are some of my favorites, And must haves for new and experienced practitioners.
1. Clear Quartz - “Clear Quartz will do what you tell it to”. Clear quartz is by far the easiest crystal to come across and the cheapest. It can easily hold your energy and intention by programing - and also helps to amplify and direct the energy of your spell.
2. Amethyst - This crystal is also easy to come across and is very inexpensive.It can be used for protection, to calm, and to amplify psychic abilities.
3. Citrine - This is a beautiful crystal. It attracts wealth, and happiness.
4. Black Tourmaline - Incredibly protective against all forms of negative energy.
5. Selenite - My favorite of all crystals. In my opinion the most beautiful named after the Greek Titan God Selene. It can self cleanse, and cleanse other crystals. It is an amazing crystal to have in your collection.

Cleansing Your Space Without Smoke

1.) CLEANSING AIR SPRAY

Your first and most simple way to cleanse without smoke would be to make a salt water solution (Fresh Salt Water from a Beach is a big Plus! Or reuse that snow/ Rain Water)

Simply mix the salt to your water until it dissolves fully.

Essential Oils are completely optional, Make your solution your own this is nearly a “base” Recipe but also very effective on its own.

Spray all around your Home, Altar, Car, Body to clear the congested energy.

2.) STEAM CLEANSING AND FLOOR WASH

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ OPTION ONE ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~

Boil water, And Add herbs that work with the intention of your cleanse.

Sage- Clears ALL energys

Sweet Grass- Think “Sweet” promotes love

Rosemary- Love, Cleansing, Protection, Money Your all purpose herb

Cinnamon: Protection, Love

Lavender: Peace, Tranquility, Happiness

Cloves: Exorcizing, Banishing negativity

Rue: Exorcizing, Expelling, Hex Breaking

Chamomile: Keeping, And Promoting peace, Happiness

Basil: Luck

Angelica Root: Protection against Malevolent spirits

(Research different herbs, Mix and Match to make YOUR Perfect blend)

Boil all of of your herbs together, Until you get a rich, Dark Color. Use this time to “add” Your intentions and energy’s into your mixture. Make your magic Happen! Take the pot and “Smudge” with the steam. All nooks, All cranny’s, All corners, All Rooms.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Now here is your “Second Option“ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

ONCE THE MIXTURE HAS REACHED ROOM TEMPERATURE use your decoction as a Floor Wash. You can add any detergents, Or Fragrances at this time

Clean all your floors, Base boards, Window Sills, What ever feels right, Although I would always start with the Floor.

(You may want to dilute in clean water, As some herbal mixes can stain)

This gives your Home Cleansing some extra OOMPH

You can dispose of your mixture Naturally, Outside, Or down the drain, Its up to you. This is an eco friendly solution.

Other ways to use Sea Salt

It’s pretty safe to say that every Witch uses Salt one way or another in their Practice. The most common way to use it is in a bath to cleanse your body before or after a ritual, And to draw Circles for casting but I wanted to share a few other ways that I use Sea Salt in my Practice.

1. To Sweep. The next time your sweeping your floors (or Vacuuming) take this time to cleanse your home magically. Sprinkle fine Sea Salt on your floors (You don’t want to scratch ‘em up) and sweep towards the main door of your home. The salt will act as a sponge and absorb the congested energy.

2.To Mop. When your mopping your Floors, add a little pinch of Sea Salt to the mix to give an even deeper cleaning of your home. Or, In a bucket of warm water and Vinegar, and Salt use this to wipe the surfaces of your home. And again, Clean towards the main door of your home as a way of “Casting the energy out”

3. To Eat. This is super simple and super Witchy. Just add Sea Salt to what ever you are cooking, Or eating! It will help to boost the flavor of your food, And cleanse you internally!

4. In the Shower. In a small bowl add 1 part sea salt to 1 part of your favorite body wash and use it as a cleansing body scrub. You could even do this with regular bar soap. Just lather up, and scrub with Salt.

5. To cleanse the Air. Again, Add A Pinch of fine Sea Salt to a spray bottle (Or Febreze) and use it as a refreshing spray. Spray your Clothes, Furniture, Or room for in between smoke cleanses.

So I thought this meme (credit to @swordlesbianopinions) was always pretty delightful and a lil while back due to many things, but in part prompting from a couple of friends who know what a big sword nerd I am, I finally opted to throw together a list of sword designs I’d associate with the different pride flags (based primarily on the sword’s literal design, not history). Obviously, this is a lot of personal opinion, but hey, it’s all for fun. Enjoy!

“While You Were Being Heterosexual, I Studied The Blade“

Lesbian first, bc that’s the OP’s orientation. Backsword. Beautiful, fast, delicate, single-edge, evolution of the Falchion meets fencing sword. Also, it was the design used for the Sword of Dios in Utena & Pearl in SU. (Pretty sure Utena just copied this: http://elfgrove.tumblr.com/post/111286499668)

Rainbow flag. The Flamberge. Large and flashy, slightly slower movement but powerful, memorable/iconic, double-edged, more of a display of the swordsmith’s skill than practical weapon, but damn they’re fun.

Also, have fun with the flaming puns.

Bisexual flag. Leaf-bladed Greek Xiphos or Celtic Hallstatt sword. Double-edged, smaller and swift, but heavy for its size. Lends to a wide range of use and style and has a great deal of creative variety in the hilt.

Pansexual flag. Trondheim Viking sword. Double-edged, a relative to the Greek Xiphos, longer, lighter, a bit more generic a profile, but good and highly versatile blade that lends towards minimal simplistic but elegant hilt designs and blade etchings and little crossguard if any.

Asexual flag. Rapier. Usually double-edged. Long, thin blades with a great deal of reach. Fast cut-and-thrust usage style. Iconic for the elaborate and decorative basket hilts that while pretty also deflect attacks to protect the wielder. Often paired with a parrying dagger. (Appropriate since Ace folk often “dual wield” multiple labels.)

More Color More Pride Flag. Ngombe. A traditional sword from the Congo region. Beautiful, strongly detailed, and large, used as a symbol of prestige and sometimes in ceremonial dance or as currency. Colonization spread now-debunked myths of it being used as a slave/animal execution tool.

Transgender flag. Kris/Keris. An Indonesian short sword. Asymmetrical. Double edged. Triangular guard that is a part of the blade. Beautifully detailed blades requiring complex smithing and are both a weapon & spiritual. They can be hard & intimidating or delicate pieces of art.

Agender flag. Kora. Single-edged. An unusual sword design wherein the inside curve is the sharp edge. The curve lends power and the flared end is both decorative and adds weight to the force of a swing. Designed for slashing rather than thrust-style fighting. Typically practically adorned but sometimes features artistic engraving on the blade and gilded details.

Non-binary flag. Khanda. Double-edged but most of one edge is encased in a strengthening plate. Features a widened flat tip that eliminates thrusting from usage. Effective for slashing & versatile for single or dual wielding. Pommel hook or strengthening plate can serve as a grip. Can be very practical in appearance or highly decorative and gilded.

Genderqueer flag. Scissors Katar. A variety of push dagger. These wide, beautifully decorative blades open into 3 via a spring (usually) mechanism. Despite colonialist rumor they exist to cause excessive harm, recent theory is the mechanism is actually defensive, meant to act as a sword catcher and breaker rather than for viciously gutting opponents.

Aromantic flag. Stiletto. A chronically underestimated and misunderstood blade. Stilettos are most commonly thought of as a defensive parrying dagger to a rapier, and while they can be used as such, stilettos exist both as daggers and as swords. Stilettos were actually first designed as a purely offensive weapon and the secondary weapon of knights to be used to efficiently cut through mail or armor right to the “heart” of the problem at hand. Stilettos are also well known as a concealed blade such that most cane swords are actually stilettos.They are iconic in that even when made with edges, it is not designed to be useful for cutting or slashing but rather is a thrusting (stabbing) blade usually forged from a single piece of metal. They are at the height of thier intended usage as an “edgeless” sword/dagger. They can be highly artistically decorated or simple and practical as suits the wielder’s tastes.
